Jackets Sweep Heat
The Yankton Yellow Jackets scored a pair of one-run victories over the Vermillion Heat in girls’ fastpitch softball action Thursday.
In the opener, Madison Dangler had a double and a triple, and Heather Hauer had three hits to lead Yankton to an 8-7 victory.
Abby Bartlett doubled and singled, and Becky Frick had two hits for Yankton. Kacie Schrempp added a hit.
Frick picked up the win, striking out three.
The Yellow Jackets completed the sweep with a 9-8 decision in the nightcap.
Dangler doubled and singled to lead Yankton. Hauer added a hit.
Hauer picked up the win, striking out two.
The Yellow Jackets take on the Yankton Green rec squad Monday. Start time for the twinbill is 6 p.m.
