Pound Count
Several animals are available at the Yankton Animal Shelter. For more information call the Yankton Police Department’s Animal Control Officer, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 661-9494, or 668-5210. A $5 fee is required to adopt an animal. Animals can be viewed on the Humane Society Web site at www.heartlandhumanesociety.net.

It is important to remember that an arrest should not imply guilt and that every person is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. When juveniles are released from jail, it is into the care of a parent or guardian.
It is the policy of the Press and Dakotan to publish all names made available in the police and court reports. There are no exceptions.
Accidents
• A man reported at 6:47 a.m. Tuesday that his vehicle had struck a pole in the 1500 block of Broadway.
• A sheriff’s office report was received at 10:08 a.m. Monday of a 1992 GMC pickup that had been rear-ended by a 1990 Dodge Dynasty along Highway 50. Estimated value of the damage to the vehicles was $786 and $2,185, respectively. The driver of the Dodge was cited for following too closely.
• A sheriff’s office report was received at 8:46 p.m. Monday of a Yukon that had collided with a parked boat trailer at the Lewis and Clark Marina boat ramp. Estimated value of the damage to the Yukon was $1,057.
• A sheriff’s office report was received at 5:24 a.m. Tuesday that a 2003 Chevrolet Impala collided with a deer on Highway 81 near 294th St.
Arrests
• Angel Delao, 19, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. Monday on a warrant. The subject was released at 10:34 a.m. Monday.
• Jeffrey Edward Labrie, 21, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. Monday for driving under the influence. He was released at 4:04 p.m. Monday.
• Edward Benjamin Milburn, 34, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. Monday for violation of bond. He was released at 7:07 a.m. Tuesday.
• Troy Donovan Roberts, 40, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Monday for possession of marijuana.
Incidents
• A report was received at 6:26 p.m. Monday that two lawn chairs had been stolen from a yard in the 600 block of Capitol.
• A report was received at 6:41 p.m. Monday of juvenile males shooting fireworks in the 800 block of Douglas. Police confiscated 126 fireworks and advised them and a parent that further violations would result in charges, as well as confiscation of the fireworks.
• A report was received at 11:03 p.m. Monday that a light pole was broken along the Auld-Brokaw Trail between Capital and Pine streets.
• A report was received at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday that eight coil units valued at $200 a piece were stolen from a business in the 900 block of Broadway.
• A juvenile female was arrested Tuesday afternoon after she was caught shoplifting $8 worth of merchandise from a business in the 2100 block of Broadway.
• A sheriff’s office report was received at 8:27 p.m. Monday that an 11-year-old boy had been bitten by a dog at a residence along Highway 50. He was treated for three puncture wounds to his right forearm.
