Pound Count
Several animals are available at the Yankton Animal Shelter. For more information call the Yankton Police Department’s Animal Control Officer, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 661-9494, or 668-5210. A $5 fee is required to adopt an animal. Animals can be viewed on the Humane Society Web site at www.heartlandhumanesociety.net.

Accidents
• A report was received at 7:27 p.m. Sunday that a 2008 Dodge Avenger ran over a sign laying in the road along Highway 50 near 448th Ave. Estimated value of the damage to the vehicle was $500.
• A report was received at 3:57 p.m. Saturday that a vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle in the Days Inn parking lot.
• A woman in a Ford Taurus opened her driver’s door while traveling down Douglas near 19th St., and it was struck by a Chevy Impala going in the opposite direction. The incident was reported at 5:34 p.m. Sunday. Estimated value of the damage to the vehicles was $1,229 and $450, respectively.
• A report was received at 11:27 a.m. Monday of a hit-and-run accident in the 400 block of Broadway.
Arrests
• Bobby Lee Ashley, 49, was arrested at 5:12 a.m. Saturday for a 24/7 Program violation.
• Byron Wade Eaglehawk, 21, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. Saturday for simple assault.
• A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested at 3:48 a.m. Sunday for the possession or purchase of alcohol. The subject was released at 4:56 a.m. Sunday.
• A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested at 3:54 a.m. Sunday for the possession or purchase of alcohol. The subject was released at 4:25 a.m. Sunday.
• Erin Lee Fifer, 31, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Friday for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was released at 2:37 p.m. Friday.
• Gerald Wayne Greger, 33, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. Friday on a warrant. He was released at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
• Shaun Aaron Guthmiller, 22, was arrested at 3:17 a.m. Sunday for driving under the influence (second). He was released at 8:47 a.m. Sunday.
• Michael Dean Hakeneis, 39, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Sunday on a bench warrant. He was released at 5:22 p.m. Sunday.
• Jacob Ryan Johnson, 19, was arrested at 8:09 a.m. Sunday for a 24/7 Program violation. He was released at 10:07 a.m. Sunday.
• Steven Joseph Kotalik, 25, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. Sunday for simple assault. He was released at 7:01 p.m. Sunday.
• Archie Justus McShannon, 53, was arrested at 12:04 a.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated. He was released at 12:55 a.m. Friday.
• Pamela Ann Montoya, 53, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. Sunday for driving under the influence. She was released at 12:42 a.m. Monday.
• James Arthur Olson, 48, was arrested at 12:40 a.m. Saturday for driving under the influence (fourth). He was released at 4:16 p.m. Saturday.
• Jeremy David Peters, 30, was arrested at 7:25 a.m. Saturday for a 24/7 Program violation.
• Chelsey Marie Reiner, 21, was arrested at 3:23 a.m. Saturday for driving under the influence. She was released at 3:54 a.m. Saturday.
• Christopher Brian Rose, 36, was arrested at 7:23 a.m. Saturday on some local warrants.
• Jeremy James Roubideaux, 38, was arrested at 1:31 a.m. Friday on a parole detainer.
• A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested at 5:44 p.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated. The subject was released at 5:51 p.m. Friday.
• Barry Thomas Saxen, 38, was arrested at 8:33 a.m. Friday for parole violation.
Incidents
• A report was received at 5:32 p.m. Friday of oil on Broadway near Muggsy’s, down to Fourth St. and then heading east out of Yankton. A vehicle, which could not be located, had struck the curb with an oil pan. The fire department was called to clean up areas where a lot of oil had fallen.
• A woman reported at 7:23 p.m. Saturday that a man used her keys to enter an apartment and steal a camera and MP3 player.
• A report was received at 10:48 a.m. Sunday that a possibly rabid fox was seen near the Yankton High School.
• A report was received at 10:50 a.m. Sunday that damage had been done to a fence in the 200 block of Locust. Estimated value of the damage was $200.
• A red 24-speed dirt bike was found in the 800 block of Burleigh at 11:11 a.m. Sunday.
• A report was received at 12:02 p.m. Sunday that a 1993 Ford Explorer had been damaged. Two tires were slashed and a tail light was broken. Estimated value of the damage was $375.
• A report was received at 4:31 p.m. Sunday that a light pole in the 400 block of Locust was damaged.
