Police Investigate Jewelry Store Burglary
The Yankton Police Department is investigating a burglary that took place at Kline’s Jewelry during the weekend.
A report was received around 8:55 a.m. Monday that a “large amount of jewelry” was taken from the store, according to a media release issued by the department.
The perpetrators gained access to the store, which is located in the 200 block of West Third Street, by cutting a hole in the wall.
Police believe the burglary took place between 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 8:55 a.m. Monday.
Assistant Police Chief Jerry Hisek said Monday afternoon that the matter is under investigation and officers are seeking to find out if any similar incidents have occurred elsewhere in the region recently.
