Dental School: Old Tests Often Recycled
OMAHA, Neb. — The dean of the University of Nebraska’s dental college says it’s routine for students to recycle old tests and notes for study purposes.
But John Reinhardt says it’s not ethical for students to buy or sell those materials.
This week, state Auditor Mike Foley began investigating the sale of old tests and notes as study guides for the college’s dental students.
Reinhardt says he first learned about sale of the study guides in March, but it’s been going on for years.
The accredited college offers most of its courses from Nebraska’s Lincoln campus, but is affiliated with University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha. It has about 260 students enrolled for the 2008-09 school year.
