Krull Elected To Executive Committee
Dave Krull, counselor at Andes Central High School, Lake Andes, will assume duties as Chair for the South Dakota ACT State Organization beginning this fall. The Chair Council position represents secondary and postsecondary educators across the state.
The purpose of the State Organization, now active in 39 states, is to support and promote informed decision-making by individuals engaged in career planning, preparation for further education or work, and lifelong learning. The State Organization serves as a communication link between educational institutions and agencies and ACT, provides advice on ACT’s programs and services, and facilitates statewide professional development activities.
ACT is an independent, not-for-profit organization seeking to help people achieve education and workplace success. ACT provides more than a hundred assessment, research, information, and program management services in the areas of education and workforce development. Dave Krull will continue to be a critical link in helping ACT fulfill this mission in South Dakota. Mr. Krull stated that “a major goal that has been accomplished this year was adding an additional ACT testing date for next year. The new date for students to take the ACT test in South Dakota is September 12, 2009. Also the continued improvement of ACT scores in the state is still the number one goal.”
