MMC To Host Career Day Oct. 16

Mount Marty College will host a Career Day for high school students from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 16.

The Career Day is designed to give high school juniors and seniors early insight into various professional careers by allowing them to interact with professionals from the world of work. These professionals will share their work experiences, educational backgrounds, places of employment and salary scales. They will also predict their career’s employment outlook.

Career Day begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 16 with a short introduction. Students may choose to attend three mini-sessions from a list of popular careers. The presenters will be professionals within the respective career. The sessions will conclude at noon. Participants may stay for lunch on campus ($4 per person).

Representatives from the following professional fields will be available during Career Day: accounting, anesthesia, banking, clinical laboratory science, dentistry, education, engineering, exercise wellness, financial investment, food service and hospitality management, forensic science, graphic design, human resource management, information technology, insurance, law, law enforcement, marketing and public relations, medicine, nursing, nutrition and food science, occupational and physical therapy, pharmacy, psychology, radiologic technology, real estate, recreation management, retail merchandising, speech therapy and veterinary medicine.
