Elnor Bingham

BLOOMFIELD, Neb. — Funeral services for Elnor M. Bingham, age 73, of Bloomfield, will be held Wednesday (August 27, 2008) at 10:30 a.m. at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Rev. Duane Fahr will officiate with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton, SD.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

She died Friday, August 22, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.

Elnor Marilyn Bingham was born November 28, 1934 at Osmond, NE to August and Emma (Dralle) Gansebom.

Elnor was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. She graduated from Osmond High School in 1952. After graduation she worked in the hospital and then attended Wayne State College. Elnor taught country school in Pierce County for 3 years and in Knox County for 2 years.

On June 3, 1956 she married Donald L. Bingham. Three daughters were born to this union; Carolyn Palu, Barbara Goede, and Diane Guthmiller.

Elnor and her husband Don farmed on their farm northeast of Bloomfield all of their married life. In 1956, Elnor joined the First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, where she was an active member of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School.

Survivors include her husband Don; daughters, Carloyn Palu, Barbara and Jim Goede, and Diane Guthmiller; nine grandsons, Michael, Johnathan, and Andrew Palu, Nicholas and Chrissey, Jared and Aaron Goede, and Shaun, Derek, and Ryan Guthmiller; brothers, Delmer Gansebom of Osmond and Kenneth Gansebom of Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dwaine, Lloyd, and Norman; one sister, LaVern Kenny; and one grandchild, Amanda Guthmiller.
